What Sort of Captain is he actually?
Because the Rest seems to be below his coat, we only see his Hat and it doesnt seem to be done right, if iam not wrong, because the soviet ones had no Star on this position (except for the air force but they had wings too).

The "bomb" looks like the front end of an automobile transmission. I am a pretty good shade tree mechanic and I do believe that is what this is.
