Onto ourselves we built a tehnomarvelous utopia
Consuming the seemingly abundant resources of our world
Rising ever higher into the heavens,
Only to plummet down and scorch the earth in our grand fall.
When greenhouse gases amassed in the air
And Greenland melted, cutting off the gulf stream,
Its winding path no longer warming the oceans.
A new ice age advanced upon the world,
Glaciers expanded forward from polar ice fields and mountains.
Shattering dreams and crushing cities in their paths
Leaving the earth scarred and torn
In an unphantomable nightmare of ice and fire
That destroyed nearly all hope.
