When I first saw this piece... I was shocked. Choked by overwhelming emotion. The simplicity of the image, the familiarity of the subject... it all came together in a new prophet. It's taken me some time to be able to respond to this work in anything beyond an emotional fashion. I am especially fond of the details, ALL of the details. The textures of the stone walls, the fuzzy post-apocalyptic char of the train, the subtle variation of shades describing the supplicants in worship... and zee Captain, limned in holy fructose... I am inspired. I love the choice of positioning and gesture for zee Captain, naturally assuming a place of confidence and leadership so effortless and graceful in a way. I really like this piece and I always look forward to more Romantically Apocalyptic. I could keep going and going, but I think I will stop now.
You call that groveling? You're barely bending over! But in all seriousness, this is a most inspirationally delicious piece with Zee Captain being bathed in the golden light of lemonade! My new desktop image!
