What I like best about your comics is how you can channel so much tension and emotion through people hidden behind gas masks. In this specific work, zee Captain just stands stoically while his companion is the complete opposite in terms of composure. It really makes one anxious moving from panel to panel with the last frame really clinching it.
The art itself is pretty awesome. The scene definitely has the mood of a post-apocalypse. The strong contrasts between light and shadow as well as the use of pale colours in the background really highlights that. Speaking of colour, I truly enjoyed how the dust kicked up by the spider-beast robs much of the scene of colour. Comically, zee Captain is neither affected by this nor fazed by the tension.
The one thing that troubled me, however, is that weird black squiggle that shows up on the right-side building on the first three panels (the spider-beast's leg touches it in the third one). It does not appear to supposed to be there in the first two panels since it shares the same medium as the beast.
Great job overall and I look forward to the next instalment.
I just have to say this episode is definitely one of my most favorites, the expressions really make it here.
I began laughing literally from the first frame, it works without any words and is universally understood. Very impacting.
This episode truly showcases zee captein, that he is just simply so calm, truly the luckiest survivor on earth and for what reason? hehe
The colours are truly outstanding in this one, and the movement from frame to frame is almost like it was shot in a film very professional I believe the movement really makes this comic great, a definite progression in the right direction, not to say the others weren't fantastic because they were.
PS: stop saying I dont like your comic you boob because I am here alone in the dark leaving you a critique on how much I adore all of your work stop being ghey.
I love the comedy in this. It needs no words and it needs no expression. It's difficult to depict expression without a face but I feel like this was done perfectly. Lovely details in all of the panels and the cup o tea/coffee/etc is such a wonderful touch to what would be quite a serious situation.
