STEP 0: FAV THIS TUTORIAL AS MY SALARY! --------------------▶
YOUR FAVS FEED MY STARVING KITTENS AND CHILDREN. YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO DISAPPOINT THEM, WOULD YOU? WITH ONE BILLION FAVS I COULD FINALLY AFFORD TO BUY THEM A CAT ISLAND.

SO, YOU WANT TO ART: CYBERPUNK CHARACTERS?

This tutorial will show you how to create amazing fractal-grown cyberpunk/futuristic dresses, costumes and armor for your characters.

This tutorial requires the following tools:
1)PHOTOSHOP CS
2)MANDLEBULB 3D

STEP 1:

Create a "base", feature-less human like this:

This tutorial doesn't care how you do it.

You can draw this base human and scan it.

You can draw this base human directly in photoshop.

You can download 3D studio manga, poser or another software that contains base 3D human renders that you can pose:

You can take a photo of your friends, like I often do:

If you don't have friends who can model for you, you can click here to find stock of such on Deviantart.

Or you can also obtain and take photos of one of these base-human dolls from ebay:

The possibilities for creating base-humans are vast!

STEP 2:
Shove your base human into Photoshop on a separate layer, with no background.

Here is my base human in Photoshop:

STEP 3:
Open Mandelbulb 3D Don't have Mandelbulb? Click HERE to download it.
Download parameter for costume parts.

Open my parameter in Mandlelbulb:

You can increase size of render, and then render the parameters:

And then click "SAVE" as ".PNG"
Then open the .PNG IN photoshop, to get armour pieces.
Isolate the purple color to get them as separate layer:

Plop the armour all over the character as separate layers and use basic round Photoshop brushes to add dark lines and white highlights:

Need more armor pieces?
Go back into Mandelbulb and use navigator to move around the parts, and make new renders of various cool views:

Need more variety?
Mutate the parameters, navigate, mutate, navigate, repeat forever until you have a stash of hundreds of renders!

Need even more variety? Get other parameters from DA mandelbulb groups.

Here are some other things I've rendered in mandelbulb for my cyberpunk armour.

1. WINGS

2. STARS

3. A DRESS

Shove them into photoshop, add a few brushstrokes and TA DA:
