This comic keeps getting more and more convoluted... I have some idea as to what might happen, but I'm sure that I'm way off. RA is just the most awesome thing. I'm also rather confused. XD And black holes aren't quite the ideal beverage of the post-apocalypse.
Does anyone else think it's a bit ominous or unnerving that Captain's text has gone dark in color? Or the fact that his commentary seems a bit more serious (for Captain)???
While we still don't see Captain's face, there is now something deeply frightening about him to me. I mean, I still loves me Zee Captain, but I think we're now seeing a slightly different side of him...
Do you mean in the comic or here? In the comic Captain is referring to the dark matter with the grey-purple and Snippy with the blue. And his normal text is white, as per usual. Here there are just customization limitations for posts.
And honestly, I'm not so much afraid of Captain as I am at the idea of him attempting to drink a black hole, even though it is Captain we're talking about.
AH! Eleeveen. I've been watching your commentary on the RA site for some time too.
Yes, a bit of a "light bulb" moment occurred when I thought on it long enough. Sometimes I think it's easy to over analyze the "color coded" text. I think, at least in a manner of looking at it, with exception to who left the window open, Captain's tone seemed a bit more serious than usual.
I dunno, I think there is something that could be frightening about Captain, if Pilot indeed (and he seems to be) is correct about Captain being something far greater than what Snippy (and what we've kind of observed) believe he is. Whatever Zee Captain really is, I don't believe he is entirely human. And yes, it will be interesting to see what happens when Captain takes the straw to the black hole. There is a HUGE difference between that and the sugary pit of death. HUGE!!!
On a related matter, the look into Snippy's genetic memory is very interesting. It has thus far managed to raise some questions about the nature of the mug, for example. It also makes one ponder if poor Snippy has been a part of some odd space-time continuity bending. Although that would be ever so appropriate for Sniper's put upon existence.
Honestly, I've loved the comic from the start, but lately it's really been getting me on the edge of my seat. (I still get a good chuckle out of that first page with LOVE THE BOMB)
Yeah, I've seen others get confused from it as well. The first time it was even really use was in 64, but in that it was much easier to follow. I do agree that he is more serious than usual. It may only seem a bit scary because it just proves that Captain always acts so seemingly goofy, regardless of the situation.
Maybe I'm not really frightened of Captain because I kinda' agreed with Pilot already. Captain and the supernatural pretty much already go hand in hand as far as my headcanon is concerned, so it's not surprising that he might have that kind of power. Seeing him attempt to drink the black hole will be terrifyingly amazing for everyone, none the less.
I not sure if Snippy is, but we'll see. I've almost given up trying to predict anything like that accurately. 81
Yeah, I love it all, and things are starting to heat up again, though I don't think this arc is close to hitting that highest point quite yet. Expect to be sitting closer and closer to that edge for a while, haha~ I have no doubt it'll be worth it.
My guess is that Captain is all the memories and emotions of everyone who was connected to ANNET. He just appeared somewhere in nowhere where he was found by the Good Directorate. And what else would you do with some being appearing form nowhere than experiment on it? Since "he" is everyone (even that part of Pilot that was lost by "breaking his blue tiara") he has neither a face nor a gender. And since he is not human (but billions of minds taking a shape) he can appear out of nowhere, withstand blastwaves or drink black holes...
Well, that's what could be. But I think Alexius will come up with something even MORE epic than that...
Snippy has it! He's in zee cage of blue light, clutching zee mug! No wander zee Captain is thirsty, he has not been without his mug in years, he's gotta do something with that straw. Good job there is a black hole there!
