Fight against the machine!

The new "favorites" "FAIRNESS" system on DA brings changes to the heart of this community, by changing the "popular" page browsing function, without most people not even knowing about what's going on or noticing it at first!
As suggested by numerous deviants, I've started something that addresses the situation.
As stated already:

1)I am not against the new system, the new system is cool with me, I just want the old one back as a browsing extra option
2)The new system doesn't really give less exposure to known deviants, in fact it gives them just as much exposure, as they're still the most popular in their category. Rather it gives "Unknown" categories exposure. Therefore the fairness is not pointed towards new deviants, but towards "unknown categories". Some categories will now get less exposure, because so many artists get lots of favs in them. Other categories will be exposed more, because less people post in them.

I've started a super awesome petition that outlines all the problems found by deviants with the new "frontpage favorites" system and a request that the admins bring the old system back, at least as a browsing category.
If you agree with any of its points, sign it:

PETITION!

Spread the word! Tell more deviants about what's going on! We as a community should stand together!

Doombringers! This is your new mission! Spread the word via messages, notes and journals to anyone who supports the issue. There are already literally thousands of artists who support us, as I found out. Journals about the issue are popping up on the "Today" page.
Lets see how this plays out. If we get enough signatures, the issues are worthy of taking on, if not, oh well, means that most people approve of the new, and we stick with the new system.

Don't know whats going on?
Here's the original journal about the issue:

Here's what the "all time popular" page looks like because of it:

(It make sense that the most popular pieces from each category are shown, but what the heck is organizing categories from most popular to least?! Why should a category that has less submissions in it be any more IMPORTANT than others? It tastes like a lot like chaotic randomness....)
Judge for yourself. Don't let anyone tell you what's good or bad.

update:
:icontgrillo: is banned for stealing art. Quick response, admins. I salute you.

Also
Is a hilarious interpretation of the current events on DA.

Support this issue with a journal (note me) and I'll link to it from mine.
So far we have the following great artists on our side:

Did you know that the animation on the front page is stolen? Apparently, that person is an art thief who even stole one of $liquisoft's wallpapers.

FairExposure is so wonderful.

Well, at least it exposed an art thief.

im so glad that people like you are FINALLY starting to take notice to how the admins keep trying to fix a problem that isn't there. they act like obsessive compulsive children that try and glue a shiney heart onto a leonardo de vinci piece of work and claim that they "made it better then before".

Me: Dad, where do babies come from?
Dad: Well, we got you at wall mart, your brother at target...
Me: HUH?!
Dad: What? It was a blue light special.
Me: You got me ON SALE?!
Mom:That explains a lot, we got your sister at Best buy.
really?
GHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
that's real fair. sign man petition

Signed. Am spreading the word now. :salute:

We don't love "because", but "despite".

This is why there is no such thing as perfect. A flawless beauty would be blank without any appeal nor character. Its scars are what defines it and what inspires emotion... from that moment, it becomes art.
You've put it very nice...

Theres one problem...... I like the new system... ^^
The petition isn't to revert back to the old. It's to at least have it brought back for browsing as an "option".
That's what I really care about.
I get a lot of my inspiration through that browsing.

hah, you got first signature :D

People are strange, when you're a stranger. Faces look ugly, when you're alone. Women seem wicked, when you're unwanted. Streets are uneven when you're down.
I did. I'm so sick of FairExposure. It affects general browsing too. Try searching names of popular characters from Naruto (for example), like "Deidara" or "Tobi". You will see that the first few pages are dominated by mediocre and less than mediocre drawings that were put in categories like "scraps", "people", and "manga/anime" rather than "fanart". Even in general searches are the more popular categories being pushed back behind the less popular categories. It's not just the popular section.
