Yo alexiuss. Remember that music contest? How's the episode going? I'm talking about the one with live actors and whatnot. Just curious. Been a while since we heard anything about that. How far has it gone? Have you gotten far enough to present a revised pilot preview? Also, the story of the comic is a bit of a mindfuck atm.
Also, cleaned up some more in the gallery section and noticed that a lot of people have submitted their own fan fiction and short stories, some even wrote quite long literary works. Maybe you should try a writing contest? I'm sure many would wish to capture the feel and wit of the captain. Others would maybe want an interaction of their fan created characters. Besides, people are creative and inspired. Maybe they'll invent an ingenous plot in which you in turn become inspired. Thus fueling the circle of life and inspiring them further ect.
It's worth a shot. Also, I'll continue moving all non-offical stories to the new Apocalyptic Writings category. I'm sure a contest would fill it up quite a bit. Some fancy points and/or a cameo would probably make people get mad with anticipation.
Are you going to change the captains voice into something more gender neutral by the way? That's the high point of the captains popularity, I think. What is the captains gender. If you display a manly voice, the conclusion would thus be simple and then the mystery of the captain wouldn't remain intact.
People would simple go; "Bummer, man. Mystery solved."
Btw, I'm not sure if you saw it in my previous post. What about a writing contest? Contests are fun and we could a use a few more. Since we've had Storyboards, character designing and music so far.
A pure writing contest would've been fun, I think.
I think it's been determined that Captain uses some kind of voice changer. Snippy made a comment to this effect as well. So even if the voice comes across as masculine, that doesn't mean Captain's a "he". This is the line I was thinking of: "Usually it's incredibly easy to locate Captain thanks to the booming, commanding voice. I don't know how Captain manages to be so loud with a mask on. Electronic amplification, maybe? If it is, then it must be with voice modification or the feedback would be enormous."
Hm, you've put a lot of thought into this. This line should be said somewhere in the show imo. Personally, my conclusion would've simply resulted in assuming the deep bass voice being manly and the captains general awesomeness amplifying it.
The probably most witty and funniest way to present this would probably be pilot trying to explain the captains awesomeness and a tired snippy answering something along the lines of.. "So.. an electronic amplifier then?" and then some random action where pilot tries to dismiss it resulting in a frustrated snippy tries to strangle him when the captain barges into said room and wants to assign another silly mission.
You should write a fan story for the group, I've been trying to motivate alexiuss to start a writing contest for the group, but after saying it two times to no avail, I assume he's just not that interested in it at the moment.
But hey, if you want to, I think you'll do great. You appear to have an analytical and creative mind. That plus imagination and vocabulary is all you need to write something, I think? XD
Part of the power of this comic is the strong relationship it has with social media. Some ideas appear to develop through fan interaction on DeviantArt, Facebook, Twitter, and the comic's Comments. It wouldn't surprise me if Captain was originally intended to be male, but the strong positive response to a main character undefined by gender encouraged Alexius to continue in that direction. And since videos had already been made, the explanation for a masculine voice would have to be a voice changer. I like your idea for the presentation of it, and feel it can still be done! Alexius keeps up with his fans' suggestions even if he doesn't always (rarely) replies.
Perhaps try writing him an email about the writing contest idea? It's a good one!
Well, he did respond to my comment, so I assumed he read it the first time. I got the idea while approving submissions into the group. Noticing there had been multiple apocalyptic writings that had been approved lately, I stacked them all in a new category. Some guy had for example submitted a story split into seven parts, each being pretty damn long and it's not even done yet.
I'm not sure if writing an email will help much. Instead, spread the word and start an unofficial contest between a group of friends/fans? Although I don't really think I have the time to be a judge. Got a project I need to finish before Friday.
I may look into the stories after that though, possibly and then link those I find best to alexiuss, or something. Hell, if that doesn't work, I'll award the winner with a few points and a llama. XD
What, i tought it was three days?? how dowes 7th day to 9th day make three days? I was going to do it right now, and tought I had until tomorrow. because 10 minus 7 is 3, not 9 minus 7. it makes 2.. Could you put a date and time next time as deadline? :/
60 hours?? what, thats crazy :0 I guessed something like that you messed it up, and that does explain. it's cool, cause youre drawing the comic that we are reading, so we cannot complain. you should sleep more, it's your duty for your own health, and to make good work! damn kids these days staying up late.. (HAHA 8D) jokes aside, do this again? super fun!
Well I tought about that too, but it doesn't work. because it's still the 9th. if you count the hours between the two posts, this one and the previous one, it makes 1 day and 20 hours. it's not even close to three days. well whatever..
