Making my life count for something. I don't want to just exist on this planet meaninglessly and then pass on without having contributed some how. I want to have a good impact on people and the world. Otherwise I think I'll just be another figure that existed and then went poof.

Religion taking over is far more worst than government taking over. Because government is based on religion in my country

I voted 'superbug'. As much as most of the other things concern me, I could possibly deal with those a little better. That's not to say they don't concern me, because they do.

Take into account that you can't safely even walk in the streets with zombies. Unless the zombies don't move, which would be ridiculous, you would have no freedom.

If you had a gun you would. And can zombies really walk on rotten and maybe even bug infected legs? I think NOT! And if they can, it will be very very slowly.

I can no longer shop in the teenage section of the bookstore, despite it supposingly being in my age group.I either head to the childrens section( =D ) or I shop in the science fiction. If I want a vampire yet another romance,I'll shoot myself in the eyeballs first, thank you very much.
That's why I think the social trend is killing the brains of our masses. =)

Funny how that many people feel the government is to blame for their loss of freedom, while still wanting to live in a crowded city/country where everyone wants something different.

In democratic lands, the government is not one static thing, it's a dynamic body where you can participate in yourself to make a change. No-one is taking your freedom away, you just choose to live with people who all share different thoughts and that requires limitations. Democracy is not "I vote for MY ideas to get through", it's more like "I accept what others want". Blaming the government is a poor excuse :P.

What does concern me is the heap of useless crap we start to depend on more and more and eat resources we better leave untouched.

I say viral outbreak because we can't fight back in that situation. Granted the gov't turning bad and religious takeovers would be bad, but they could be fought against and changed.

A viral outbreak by a bug that can't be stopped would render us helpless. We would just have to wait it out and hope some of the population lives through it.

In that case natural disasters leave us just as helpless, but the reason I think the virus is worse is because it can spread over the whole world, mutate, then spread over the whole world again; while a natural disaster is concentrated on a certain region for a small, temporary period of time.

that is a big problem..
religion.
its nothing bad
the opposite
its a great thing.
connecting people in their beliefs and give them hope in sad/bad days.
the people who try to use it for their things (wars, fanatic terrorism, or what ever) and people who say "science is bullshit - its like my religion says"
are just stupid.
There is it: the general stupidity
that should end.
people should begin to think about things around them - and they should do it well and not just onesided or believing what others say.
be critically to everything - but that doenst mean you cant trust anyone.

religion.
its nothing bad (Um yes it is)
the opposite (yes, it is evil)
its a great thing. (nope)
connecting people in their beliefs and give them hope in sad/bad days. (false hope)
the people who try to use it for their things (wars, fanatic terrorism, or what ever) and people who say "science is bullshit - its like my religion says"
are just stupid. (I agree, unless there is strong proof of something. Then I can understand)

Anyways, i did this mostly out of boredom, and because i think what you said was incredibly wrong.

What worried me most atm is the rising world temperatures that are resulting in the loss of crops worldwide, and the prediction we will run out of grains in the foreseeable future. Ie., areas of europe and asia that once grew many crops are now unable to produce, etc.

Now, if you ask what WORRIES me the most though, it would have to be governmental stupidity and greed leading to worldwide demise

"Governments taking our freedoms away, using poor excuses" -- this only happens if you *let* it happen. IMHO, government "control" only perpetuates due to two things: 1) we are so dependent on government that we can't do anything for ourselves, 2) state-sponsored violence. The problem with some folk is that they think the only way to topple government is to become government or violently overthrow it. Neither works and only perpetuates corrupt power.

Religion won't take over...not real religion. Most so-called "religious" people simply use the constructs of their self-preservation wrapped up in some blasphemous image and call it God. But such things eventually implode upon themselves. Despite the fear rhetoric, many nations are getting less religious (i.e. creedal-centric), not more. Those left are merely much more extremist, which screws the whole thing even more.

Resource shortages and natural disasters are not only happening, they are accelerating...get used to it. Superbugs might arise, but you'll die one day anyway. If you are mortified by embarrassment or rejection, check your ego...psychologists can often help. And if you fear getting old and useless, get off your butt and ignore what others might call "usefulness"...only you can make your own meaning. Nothing you do, not even your name, will be remembered when the sun swallows the Earth no matter what you accomplish...which will pretty much fry any luxury you might think of.

In the end, you have absolutely nothing...No thing...but Life...humanity in all its fullest between two human beings in this very moment. :tighthug:

That or puppies who've been house trained. Yeah. And very small rocks. :meditate:

religion will never take over. There are too many metal heads in the world for that. Live on Black Sabbath.

But definately making you life count for something, is always on the mind, or sometimes.

I just can't grasp the amount of paranoid ignorance one must have to be worried about religion "taking over"

I myself, am worried about the fact that we get less and less space to grow everyday, that is the reason behind unemployement and depression, we're too damn many for the world's own good and we're feeling the backlash caused by the opression of other people who just want to live their lives as much as we do. :(
