Yeah, it was a misunderstanding in my part... sorry for that... Still I've read the explanation that deviant gave regarding that and they said that they had to place the advertising, and if you didn't want it you should buy a sub...
The problem, I think, is that this doesn't affect only the non-sub members... I mean even if you have a sub that only applies in how you see the deviations... not how your deviations are seen. I know that many members use deviant to promote themselves and this could affect them too I think...
But I guess it'd be a matter of getting used to it...
i liked the separation in the messages between deviations and messages (polls, journals, comments, etc.) When I don't have time to really be putting stuff up and commenting regularly on those I watch (the last year and a half basically T_T) I'm only really able to check those messages, and the fact that they're all lumped together including the massive number of deviations I need to look at I'm very very VERY confused
Yeah, I don't really like the new DA, but I suppose I'll get used to it. I never like when things change because you have to figure out how to do things again. I wish they could just leave how it works alone and make improvements from there, not just throw things into chaos for the sake of change or because they think it looks better a different way.
I wouldn't say perfect but I like it... and they seem to have fixed the most annoying bugs so I'm ok with it. It'll just take a while to get used to so there's no need to get all upset about this change.
during every single DA update everybody complains, but after some time everyone gets used to it and the they miss the old update and then everything repeats, this one looks comfortable the only thing I don't like is that the new deviations are new messages are mixed in to one number
I've found a search textbox on dA home page. Is it the one you're talking about? It is no longer in deviant's profiles though. Does the search function still include search locations (i.e. deviations, groups...)?
Hmmm... Actually this is *not* a good idea. It takes searching one step further. What if someone wants to search something but doesn't know if it's a print, a deviation, a group, whatever?... Instead, would have been ideal to split the search function into global and extended search. The popup we had in the beginning was not that bad after all.
I miss the images being full size when I click them. If I could have that back I would be happy. Why the hell should I have to click the photo twice. just pop up big first it will still look good with their effect they have going.
I love the fact that now the comment is at the top, because I : A)browse to read 100 comments per page or b)Direct comment on how awesome this is... I dislike the fact that everything looks like youtube now...Also the zoom in effect from page to deviation is very "annoying" to me.Also it's good to have all-time full size display, come on we are humans,we are damn lazy even if we are artists ! But overall it is abs. awesome,it was obvious that there are going to be bad stuff...but i am surprised by the fact that there aren't many ...
I don't want the old version back, I want more stuff in this version. (I actually like the layout, it's cleaner and allows for faster working, aesthetics are nothing to me. This is, after all, an art site; it could be windows 95 quality browsing and still be fine to me.) I wish they'd included more practical art pieces, I.E.: 3D photography (instead of just 3D art, 3D photography is much like real life photography, only it's of a photorealistic environment and is simply meant to look like reality) and about 3 other things I've been meaning to suggest as growing art forms. Regardless, I also wanted to see a better search, one with things like deviant name searches, deviation title searching, some actual word relevance engines (like what Google uses to determine that when you say "RED" you also mean things like "CRIMSON".
I've already found some problems with it, and I hate having to click on the artists comments. .-. I remember a news article about that feature or something awhile ago..guess they didn't listen to the complaints. I do like how theres two comment boxes now, and I don't have to scroll down to write.
I guess its just like everything else, a double-edged sword.
I know the idea is to focus on art, but what about when people are gone for long periods of time and need to clear their deviations because they don't have the time to view 100somewhat pictures? I can't just click rapidly anymore to delete inbox spam or clear out old things I forget to clear, and it's going to make things hard.
