A billion Soviet Shmeckles/an improbable reference

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 22, 2017, 10:21 AM
People sometimes ask if my art was inspired by __________ , but often the answer is that it wasn't, because I've never seen/read ________ (due to me being far more immersed in Soviet novels than American pop culture).

Today I came across yet another fantastic improbability, an obscure/extremely rare Soviet Poster that seems to be exactly like the character "Stealy" out of Rick and Morty.
He's even called "Hapuga", which translates to "Stealy".

Evaluate it for yourself and see how many similarities you can find:

This is a perfect example of people having similar ideas spanning across completely different cultures/time.

It's a shame that it's not likely to continue, the coloring is gorgeous!!

Is the second one on the Romantically Apocalyptic website? I swear I've seen it before.

I know the feels, except I don't have the knowledge, skills or equipment to make my ideas reality. Speaking of which, any pointers or know of any good tutorials for someone looking to get into digital art?

Alexiuss, I just needed to say this, a lot has changed since I first started following your work and Romantically Apocalyptic in 2008. Back then I was only in middle school, but then ten years later I still see notifications in my inbox about a new deviantART submission by you. Every time, I wonder what thoughtful colorful scene Alexiuss has painted and shown the world this time. I remember when you first submitted the pages about the Biomatrix, the Lifealope, and the backstory of Snippy and ANNET. Your art has made me pleasant memories. Your art has inspired my own. Keep doing what your doing. I love seeing it. Thank you.
